MEET THE PASTOR & FIRST LADY

Pastor Billie Smith serves as the Pastor of Greater Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. His ministry is magnetic, engaging, impactful, encouraging, and relatable to all levels of those walking a Christian walk, those seeking more, and those lost, and absent from the church. Pastor Billie vision is to Love All, Disciple All, and Lead All to live a life that honors our Sovereign God. His mission is to Reach Out into the Community, Nation, and World, Reach In through discipleship and intentional ministry, and Reach Up through worship and prayer. He is called to serve the underserved, unfulfilled, the absent saint, and the lost soul.

Pastor Billie is married to Cheryl Smith , and they are the parents of two, Kennedi Smith & Keziah Smith. They reside in the Detroit area, and as a couple, they continue to plow the ground until their work is done. 

First Lady Cheryl Smith known for her dynamic, inspiring and anointed ministry in music and teaching, Cheryl Smith is an electrifying worship leader, a mother, an inspirational speaker, an advocate for youth, a community leader, an entrepreneur and a wife of a great Pastor.

Cheryl has mentored many women, students, and married couples with her music ministry and spiritual development training. She loves to share God’s word however she can and she is not afraid to express her love and admiration for God and all He has given to her.Cheryl has given her life to giving back to those searching for a closer walk with God and a deep and intimate worship relationship with him.

Cheryl is also a gifted teacher of worship and praise and she lives her life seeking to give more of herself to others as they embrace their gift of singing and honoring God with their gifts. Her desire is to compel others to give their all in worship and praise to our amazing God and to create an atmosphere where God is the VIP of intimate worship and high praise.
